~NEUTRAL FOTD~ Antipodean Beauties Challenge

I have been so far off the blogging radar these last few months that I had no idea that Omega from Fashion Adjacent had started this challenge. Luckily I finally clued on to it thanks to Jenny’s most recent gorgeous FOTD.Β  I can’t promise I’ll post on every theme but I want to do as many as I can.

The theme for the week (week 14 out of 52) is ‘neutral’ and as I had already spent some time applying a neutral look this morning, I didn’t even need to do a new look. There’s nothing fancy about this look but I always go to a variation of it when getting ready most mornings because it’s flattering and work appropriate.

Base makeup

You all know that I’m a notorious foundation mixer so I used YSL Le Teint Touch Eclat Foundation in B60 mixed with Loreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder in 330 Classic Tan. I love the combination of these two foundations which works out well since I can’t wear either on its own due to colour match issues. I highly recommend checking out the YSL foundation if you haven’t already because it applies beautifully.

I used my Laura Mercier Under Eye Perfector in Orange/Yellow as usual and then applied some NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Med/Dark2 Caramel over the top. I love this concealer. It does everything you want undereye concealer to do so go check it out!

I finished off my base makeup by applying some NARS Loose Light Reflecting powder on top to set everything.

Colour makeup

I didn’t want anything too bright so I used a mixture of a blush/bronzer and a face powder. I used Guerlain Terracotta Blush & Sun in 03 Sun Tan (pretty sure this is discontinued) and MAC Studio Fix powder in NC45 (which is about 2 shades darker than my skin tone).

I applied Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Avon Big Colour Eye Pencil in B02 Vanilla as a base.

I used my original Naked palette as I hadn’t taken it out of the drawer for a while. I used Sidecar (a gorgeous sparkly light taupe) across the lid, Smog (bronze) on the outer half and Hustle (a darker plum taupe) to darken the crease. I also applied a mixture of Virgin ( metallic beige) and Sin (metallic pink) on the inner corner.

I applied Savvy by DB in Black/Brown on the top and used Loreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black on my lashes.

I finished up the look by applying Burberry Lip Cover in Nude Cashmere to my lips. I would describe this lipstick as a slightly taupe toned nude shade. I really like the shade as it takes away some of the natural mauve tones in my lips without totally blanking out the colour.

What’s your go-to neutral eye shadow palette or lipstick?
