Fresh faced spring FOTD

It’s been a bit over a month since I last posted so I thought I’d ease back in with a quick post on what I’ve been wearing lately. The weather is slowly getting nicer as we move into the middle of Spring and there’s nothing more spring appropriate than a fresh faced look. I’ve been favouring a look similar to the one below because it’s quick and easy and makes you look polished without looking you’ve tried too hard.

The key to this kind of look is radiant looking skin so how you prep your skin is just as important as what you put on after. I prepped by using Estee Lauder Even Skin Tone Illuminator topped with Aveeno Positively Radiant daily moisturiser with spf 15. Both of these products don’t have any shimmer to them but they do have a radiance aspect.

The base should be kept light so tinted moisturisers and sheer foundations work perfectly for this type of look. If you need a bit more coverage (like I did on this day), second skin foundations like the Esteee Lauder Invisible Skin Foundation are perfect because they give great coverage without covering the skin’s texture. Cream blushes also have the same effect as they sit more naturally on the skin than powder blushes. I used Clarins Multiblush in Apricot which is one of my favourites as it has a dryer texture than most cream blushes not to mention that the colour is gorgeous.

I skipped concealing my face but undereye concealing is a must. I kept the eyes really simple and applied a mixture of MAC Naked Dark pigment and MAC Blonde’s Gold pigment, one of my favourite combinations. I finished off the eyes with a coat of mascara and filled in my brows. The lips are a mixture of a Clarins gloss and NARS Orgasm lipgloss to give a peachy sheen. I also added some Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Gold onto my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

What are your fresh face essentials?

What is the Laura Mercier item in that photo? Or did I miss it? I love this look on you, I’ve always wondered about the Aveeno moisturiser, would love to hear more about it perhaps? Hint Hint haha 🙂 Beautiful as always x

Thanks Emma 🙂 There’s three LM items, one is the Undereye Perfector in Orange/Yellow which I’m always going on about, the other is the Secret Brightening Powder and the third is the Brow Definer. I’m really liking the Aveeno Moisturiser and I have been wanting to post up a review but I’m trying to find the best way to review skin care. I’ve only had it for 2 weeks now so I’ll wait till I’ve tried it for at least a month before I post.
