The Wedding Guest: Smokey and Sultry

The next look for my wedding guest makeup posts is a smokey eye that isn’t too dark. I don’t like my smokey eye’s to be too heavy and dark so I always go for an option like this where the start of the lid is relatively light. The colour on the outer third of the lid and in the crease is actually a dark blue but it tends to take on the colour of whatever it’s used with so here it’s become quite grey.

What I used:

MAC Studio Finish Concealer all over the eye from lid to brow bone
NYX Iced Coffee Jumbo eye pencil all over the lid just up to the crease
MAC Smoke and Diamonds eye shadow all over the lid just up to the crease
MAC Prussian eye shadow on outer third of the lid and into the crease and on the bottom lashline
MAC Print eye shadow to darken the outer v
MAC Electra eye shadow as an inner corner highlight
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on eye pencil in Oil Slick on the water line and bottom lashline as a base for the Prussian eyeshadow
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline to line top lash line
Covergirl Lashblast Fusion mascara on top and bottom lashes
Ardell Wispies false lashes cut in half and applied only to the outer half of the lid.

I usually use a full set of false lashes when going for a smokey eye but I feel like the Ardell Wispies are a little too dramatic for my taste as a full strip so I cut them in half. I apply one of the half lashes to each of my lids just on the outer part of the lid so it elongates my eye.
