Gold Glitter New Years Smokey eyes

I was planning on doing a silver based eye look for New Years eve but once my MAC 3D gold glitter sample and Sugarpill Goldilux loose shadow arrived of course I had to use them instead. I decided to use them in a gold smokey eye look which I usually stay away from. I love black and gold together but on the eyes I think they can easily turn tacky but it was New Years so I thought I’de give it a go.

Here’s the result:

For the look I used:
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC42 all over the lid
MAC Indianwood paint pot all over the lid and up to the crease
Sugarpill loose eyeshadow in Goldilux applied wet (using MAC Fix+ sprayed on a brush) all over the lid and up to the crease
Inglot matte black eyeshadow (the most pigmented black shadow I’ve ever used hands down!) applied on outer v and slightly into the crease
MAC Soba eyeshadow to blend out the crease
MAC Solar White eyeshadow as an inner corner highlight
MAC 3D Gold glitter applied wet on top of the Goldilux.
Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil in Corrupt on bottom lashline
Rimmel Exaggerate liquid liner to line top lashline
Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara on top and bottom lashes

This was a fun look to do but I think had an allergic reaction to the Sugarpill loose shadow in Goldilux and my eyelids were puffy and itchy by the end of the night 😦

This last picture is blurry but it captures the shimmer and reflective qualities of the eyeshadows really well. Hope you like the look.
