Wicked Halloween eyes

I’m still continuing my Halloween themed posts and today the eye look I came up with is inspired by the musical Wicked. Wicked is one of my all time favourtie musicals and I love the costumes and makeup because they’re pretty yet very quirky and witch like. I’m all for the scary halloween makeup but I love looks that are still pretty but just more dramatic than what I would usually wear.

So since this look is Wicked inspired, that means that it involves lots of green eyeshadow. Here’s the look:

In case you were interested, here’s how I got the look. I started off by priming my eyes with MAC Soft Ochre paint pot from lid to brow bone. I then covered this same area in NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk. I then used MAC Humid eyeshadow all over the lid, MAC Carbon in the outer V and MAC Tendermetal on the inner corner. I used MAC Shimmermoss in the crease and then blended the edges of the crease colour and up to the brow bone using MAC Tendermetal. I wanted to avoid using black liner for this look but because I used Ardell Wispies false lashes, I ended up using black liquid eyeliner on my top lashline to cover up any glue residue.

I usually wouldn’t use so much green together but since it’s for a halloween look I thought why not and added more green on the bottom lashline. I lined my waterline using Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye liner in Zero (black) and then worked another Urban Decay liner in Covet (emerald green) into the lashline and a bit under. I then set this liner using MAC Plumage eyeshadow so that the green of the Covet darkened up a bit and took on more of a teal tint.

If I wanted to go for a more full on look then I would pair this with bright red lips like NARS Dragon girl velvet matte lip pencil. I personally would most likely go for the more toned down version and pair this with a nude lip. I have one other look for halloween waiting to post and this one is very dramatic and is more like face painting rather than just eye makeup. I’m still deciding whether or not to post it since it didn’t come out perfectly but I think it gives an idea of the kind of stuff you can do yourself.
