FYI: the idea behind this blog

I was reading a beauty blog today and I noticed a comment one of the readers had left on this blog which basically said that they (the reader) were happy that the blog didn’t have lots of pictures on it as they hated posts that were picture heavy. I was quite surprised by this because that is the opposite of what I want out of a beauty blog.

I started looking at beauty blogs because, while I wanted reviews on products I was interested in buying, what I really wanted was product shots that hadn’t come from the manufacturer and colour swatches that were taken on skin and eyes and lips so I could see how the product truly performed. Or if I wanted to know how to do something, while it was great to have instructions, what I really wanted were pictures I could also follow so that I knew I was on the right track.

This blog is an amalgamation of every blog style I’ve read/continue to read and love. The things that I was interested in or wanted to know about or how to do are the things that I’ve included in here so that someone else may learn or become more informed about something they didn’t know or weren’t sure about.

I try to include at least one picture or image in every post I do just because I think it looks more visually engaging and is more interesting than just looking at a bunch of words on a screen. So if picture saturated posts and product rants and raves from an average beauty addict are your thing then you’re in the right place!
