Favourite online beauty sites

I have always been a makeup junkie but I just can’t seem to get enough of late and my addiction has grown exponentially. This is probably due to my discoveries of a few makeup sites that make my addiction that much easier to satisfy. I thought I’d make a list of my can’t live without beauty sites.

This site is an online makeup shoppers heaven. Karla swatches makeup products on her skin so you have a true indication of what products look like. My online shopping habit has gotten so much worse since discovering this site. Her swatches are always spot on and I have not been disappointed yet.

This site is an absolute godsend for people like me who love Laura Mercier and Nars but find the Australian pricings of these products ridiculous. This site lets you buy these and other brands at the American price and has a flat rate shipping of $7.95 anywhere in the world. I love, love, love this site! It’s such an amazing feeling to be able to get three products online for the price I would normally pay for one in Australia. Eg: The Nars primer is about $90 in Aus but $30 on the website. I’ve been telling everyone I know about this site and it’s definitely been a hit!

Most people know about this site but in case you don’t, this is a beauty site which sells the big brands for a really good price. I’ve bought from this site many times and most of my experiences have been great.

I only have problems with the merchandise when I make the mistake of buying merchandise marked as ‘unboxed’. Both times I have done this I have received the completely wrong colour. I once ordered MAC loose powder in NC42 but received an NW colour that was way too dark for me which was marked as NC42 and about 2 months ago I ordered a Bobbi Brown concealer in Honey which looks way too light but had a ‘Honey’ sticker on it. It actually shows up white on me. I might need to find it a new home.

So basically, as long as you stick to packaged items, this site is pretty good. They always give you discounts and there’s free shipping as well. Also the delivery time is really good and I usually receive my stuff within 4 days.

This site is great for NYX products. I used this site to buy the NYX jumbo pencils and it was great. The products arrived after 3 days and postage was free because I spent more than $60. I’m really impressed with the quality of NYX products considering how cheap they are. The jumbo eye pencils are great at $4.95 a pencil and I also got a jumbo lip pencil for about the same price and I love it but I’ll save that for another post.

I love this blog! I wandered on to it from another blog and I’m hooked. This girl knows her lip products and puts up lip swatches which makes deciding whether to get a product a lot easier. That being said, since I started reading this blog I have gotten way into lipsticks and my spending is going a bit overboard.

This site has really pretty eye looks complete with tutorials. The photos are great and this girl really knows her stuff! Definitely the place to go if you’re looking for inspiration for a special makeup look.

I found out about this site when I was on Tiffany D’s blog. MAC quality brushes for a ridiculously cheap price? I’m there! I’ve been trying to decide whether to take the plunge and buy a set of these brushes but in the end I was persuaded by all the positive reviews. I ordered the complete professional brush set which was $69 US plus $14US for shipping. Considering that you get like 12 brushes for this price, that is pretty reasonable. I’ll post about them once I get them and I’ve had time to use them all.

    Hi Ahalya!
I just came across your blog today by random coincidence and I must say kudos! As an Indian in Melbourne myself with a newly discovered obsession with make up it is HARD to find stuff relating to women of color! You probably already know them but my make up pitstops on youtube include Wayne Goss of gossmakeupartist (cuz he’s just so British and gorgeous and brimful of pro tips!) and Farah Dhukai (fellow Indian in Canada with loads of natural beauty tips and tricks and make uppy goodness!)
Great blog by the way! Bookmarking!
